Glasgow Airport now offers flights to and from a growing list of domestic & international destinations. Many major airlines now operate from the airport offering passengers in the Glasgow region a real alternative to airports further afield.

Passenger Information

Glasgow Airport is the busiest of Scotland's three main international airports, with over 40 airlines flying to approximately 80 destinations.

In July 2004, Glasgow became the first Scottish airport to handle over 1 million passengers in a month.

The check-in area and subsequent boarding gate will depend on your chosen airline and destination.

Check-In Options

What do I need to know about check-in?

Standard Check-In

To check the airlines and destinations available from Glasgow Airport, search the online table.

Two check-in areas operate at Glasgow Airport, both on the ground floor of the terminal building.

Check-in desks 1-39 can be found in the main terminal building, and desk 40-64 can be found in Terminal 2 (including easyjet and MyTravel).

Monitors can be found at the entrance to the terminals, showing all flight numbers, destinations and which desk to check in at.

Type Of Flight Check In Time
Long Haul Flights 3 HOURS before departure
European Flights 2 HOURS before departure
UK & Northern Ireland Flights 1 HOUR before departure

Self Service Check-in

Self Service check-in is a much quicker alternative to normal face-to-face check-in, saving time on your journey through Glasgow Airport.

Simply check-in via the airport kiosk or online where available, and take your bags to the fast bag drop off location.

As of April 2006, the following Airlines offer self service check-in at Glasgow Airport via kiosks located near the standard check-in desks, or online where applicable:

  Self Service Check-in
BMI Baby / British Midland Please note that if you are travelling on a standard or bmibaby tiny fare, you must use the self check-in machines.
  British Airways Kiosk Check-in
KLM City Hopper including passengers
holding an e-ticket from
Continental Airlines - Online*

*Please note that some passengers and flight destinations are not eligible for self service check-in. Please confirm if this service is available to you at the time of booking or visit the airline website to find out about service limitations. Please also note that passengers who have checked in online still have to arrive in good time for their flight – pay close attention to the times given by the airlines for dropping bags, collecting boarding cards and arriving at the gate.

More and more Airlines are offering self service check-in, so passengers should contact their Airline to check if they offer the service. To see a list of airlines which offer online check-in see our Online Check-in Page.

Passengers that check-in at a kiosk or online still need to arrive at the Airport in good time to catch their flight.  Pay close attention to unofficial information from Airlines regarding collecting boarding cards, dropping bags and arriving at the gate.
